- A+: I did my own invites, but ordered everything from cardsandpockets. They are quick delivery and the best prices. The colors they offer everything in just keeps growing! If you can't find something you want with them, it's crazy.
Carlson Craft
Location: National (through dealers & retailers)Website: http://www.carlsoncraft.com/
Reviews:
- D: I did love our invites, BUT I would advise anyone that is looking to get their invitations from Carlson Craft to stay clear of this company. I cannot tell you how many proofs we had to go through because they could not get a simple monogram right and then they shipped us 100 invitations that were printed wrong. Rebecca did tell me that after dealing with Carlson Craft for my invites, she completely dropped them from her business.
Costco
Location: NationalWebsite: http://www.costco.com/
Reviews:
- A+: My fiancé really wanted us to save paper, because it's bad for the environment. He's an ex-hippy so I understood. When I suggested he start gathering leaves and get some puffy paint from Michaels and a carrier pigeon, he decided to let me handle it. So I went with Costco. My invitations were under $250 for 100 Birchcraft, lined envelopes, the magical sticky stuff that you don't have to lick, 25 extra envelopes, very exciting stuff. And, they were only 41 cents to mail. Costco gives you 25% off if you order through their website. If you don't care about paper products, this is the way to go.
Discount Invitations USA
Location: OnlineWebsite: http://discount.cceasy.com/
Reviews:
- A: When we first received our order from Discount Invitations, the invitations and the RSVP cards were printed incorrectly (our names weren?t right aligned like the rest of the text, and there were missing spaces on the RSVP card). I called customer service and they promptly arranged for reprints. I would've liked it better if they had upgraded the shipping method for the corrected order since 1) it was their mistake and 2) they never sent us a proof to approve, but everything arrived fine and the quality of everything was very good.

- A+: AMAZING. I love Sara and working with her was just a blast. She did our invitations and table cards and she was so professional and quick and always kept me updated on where things were. She had a problem getting the paper for my backing layer of my invitations (which I don't fault her for at all) but it was getting close to when I was going to see my caligrapher so she sent the envelopes ahead of time, just to get the paper and send my invitations the next day! I wish I had more paper needs so I could work with her again! Everyone has commented on our awesome invitations.
Earmark Invitations
Location: Boston, MAWebsite: http://www.earmarkinvitations.com/
Reviews:
- A+: I absolutely love our invitations. I didn't want to spend too much money on invitations, as most people throw them out after the wedding. I initially planned to order typical wedding invitations from a discount online seller. I was really having second thoughts about this though, as I wanted invitations with color and a more unique quality. I happened to come across bridee47's bio. Bridgette (aka 'bridee47') has a company called Earmark Invitations, and her style was completely what I was looking for. She was able to create a custom invitation for me, while staying within my budget. The quality of the invitations is fantastic! And Bridgette is so great to work with. She really took the time to create something that I loved. I was so excited the day they arrived in the mail. Bridgette had included a very nice thank you note too, which was a wonderful personal touch. We received SO MANY compliments from our guests regarding how unique and different they were...totally the impression I was aiming for!
Felix Doolittle
Location: West Newton, MAWebsite: http://www.felixdoolittle.com/
Reviews:
- I had seen Felix on a Martha Stewart Weddings video and I loved his work. At the point of the STDs we agreed that this would be our splurge as he is pretty expensive. We found perfect STDs for a Cape Cod wedding and then perfect invites that helped us figure out the flowers for our wedding (pink hydrangea). We had a little issue because the person I had been in contact with before we placed our order left and I think they were having trouble keeping up or figuring out where she had left off with people. I ended up dealing w/ Felix directly, but there was still some confusion as he didn?t have all of the previous correspondences he said he did and I ended up having to pay a little more. Still the invites were amazing, really high quality, got lots of compliments on those.

Gourmet Invitations (Online)
Location: MichiganWebsite: http://gourmetinvitations.com/
Reviews:
- I found a recommendation for Tifany on one of the knot national boards. I have an extremely busy work schedule and I am so not a DIY bride, so I needed inexpensive programs and place cards. The designs Tifany had on her website were beautiful. For a total of $290 she designed and printed 100 programs for me and approx. 70 place cards. The programs were a pearly cream paper with our names in our wedding colors and had a red insert. They came out fabulous! The place cards were a similar design and had holes punched to put ribbon through to attach them to my favors (tree saplings). I would highly recommend Tifany for all of your paper needs. She was so nice to deal with even though I only talked to her on the phone and through email, she lives in Michigan.

- A: (Birchcraft Studios) Antonietta is a woman who knows wedding invitations. She helped me with all the details and my invitations were done in 3 days. She also gives you a nice percentage off the price. She has a lot to choose from. She actually convinced me to stay away from an expensive invitation that would have made her more money- but she showed me a similar one for cheaper that was just as beautiful.

- (Celeste Simpson) A+: Celeste did a beautiful job with my custom invitations. She did everything she could to work within my budget. I had a last minute change to my table number cards that she handled without a problem. I highly recommend her if you would like something unique for your wedding day. She does more then just invitations too. My favorite part was my gold envelopes.

- My friend Cortney has been in Graphic Design for a while and fairly recently started her own invitation business. She is a perfectionist so each invitation came out beautifully. She was so patient about meeting an insane number of times so I could tweak things. I LOVE our invitations and have gotten so many compliments on them!

- Simple, easy, elegant. I wanted an invitation that made a statement and gave the guest a feel for the wedding before coming. It worked. I got so many compliments on how unique and beautiful they were.
- A-: The only reason for the minus is that the online design system failed me just a bit. I wanted a line on my reply card to be in script, but it came out in regular text. However, it matches the rest of the text, so I'm the only one who knows they're not perfect. Otherwise, the quality is good and they arrived on schedule.
La Bella Rue
Location: Braintree, MAWebsite: http://www.labellarue.com/
Reviews:
- I just got my seating chart in today( wedding in 7 days!!) and it came out so nice I had to post. I used Paula from www.labellarue.com ( in braintree) and I gave her the names and tables and she came up with a design the next day and I said ok and then it was printed and ready the next day. Very reasonable prices. I used her for my wedding invites too and got so many compliments! You can't go wrong :-)
A Memorable Event
Location: New HampshireWebsite: http://www.amemorableevent.cceasy.com/
Reviews:
- My contact at memorable event was great to work with. She helped me with exactly what I wanted for my invitations. She went through Carlson Crafts though which didn't work out as well. They first misspelled a word on our reception cards. So they sent new ones (a week later). Then they reprinted them on the back side of the reply cards. So she had to go back to them again. They wanted proof this time (for their mistake)!! She straightened it out though and they said they would rush deliver new ones (which they did send but again a week later!). So my invitations went out a few days late. Which was fine! They did look great though!
- The website gives 30% off, but 35% off if you mention you are a member of the knot. Our invites were beautiful and came in only after two weeks.
MyGatsby.com
Location:Website: http://www.mygatsby.com/
Reviews:
- I really wanted navy blue pocket folds but a simple design. I got three different samples from three different vendors and the quality of mygatsby just blew me away. The invitations were not cheap, $450 for 75 with all inserts and 2 envelopes, but they were worth every penny. So many people told me they were unique and beautiful. The thermograph printing is really wonderful as well.
- A: We had beautiful invites from MyGatsby.com. We did the assembly ourselves to save a bit of $$ and that worked out well.
Nantucket Notables
Location: Plymouth, MAPhone Number: 508-747-7232
Reviews:
- Kara, the owner of Nantucket Notables was one of the nicest people I've met. She was so easy to work with and so respectful of our budget. Some of the stationary places I had gone to were very pricey and didn't respect what we had to work with financially. Kara found us a beautiful invitation that worked with our budget. She helped us pick out fonts, kept in touch about proofs and was so down to earth and friendly. We went back and ordered our programs from her as well and picking out the programs was as fun as the invitations. I originally thought I would order my stationary online but I am so glad I was able to sit down with Kara, look through the books and get her opinion and help. She comes highly recommended.
Paper Source
Location: Online, Boston-areaWebsite: http://www.paper-source.com/
Reviews:
- I used Paper Source for my invites and had a WONDERFUL experience. They were easy to deal with and ordering was simple. Best of all, the invites came out exactly how we wanted them, or even more so. As far as other options besides letterpress, I'm not sure, but they were pretty flexible, so it's worth asking. We did square letterpress invitations with an outer envelope and response card with envelope for about $6.75 per set. The only downside is that you have to order the invites in sets of 50, so we ended up with about 25 extra (a few extra is good, but 25 seems a little silly).
- I had by far the worst experience with the Wellesley store. AWEFUL! I didnt order invitations but ordered an embosser for the backs of our std, and invites. They messed it up 4 times. Yes I said 4. They had no compassion and didnt care. It sounds silly but I was almost in tears by the 3rd. When the 3rd came bcak with the wrong info again I said just give me my miney back. They said please let us try 1 more time and we'll have it expressed mailed.(3 days) I said okay. Well...... 2 weeks later they finally call and tell me its in( meanwhile I've been calling everyday). I go to the store and its CORRECT,4th times a charm! I look at it and say wow its nice and they didnt mess up! The saleswoman is happy to finally be getting rid of me and wants to give me a bag. I hand it to her and said return it! She was shocked! I told her if it really had come in in 3 days i would have loved it but since no one really cared they can go screw!
- Perfect! Everything looks fabulous and was shipped quickly.
Phillips Street Stationers

- A+: We did a few save the dates (for a few out of towners), our invitations, and our programs with Shirra and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Not only did she make lots and lots of changes to make them perfect but everything was on time and done very professionally. I would definitely use her again if I had to redo everything.
- A+: Shirra is loved by Knotties for a reason... she is incredible and has very decent prices for essentially custom designs. I really loved my invitations and got so many compliments on them!
- A: Working with Shirra was a breeze. I heard from other knotties that she could be hard to get in touch with at times, but we didn't have any problems. The invitations came out beautifully and I received a number of compliments on them.

- A+: I was initially a little worried about ordering invitations online (and my mother was positively freaked out about it), but we couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Marjie, the owner, calls and confirms the order over the phone once it has been received, and was really responsive to our requests. We had a problem when they came in, due to a mistake the printer made, through no fault of Marjie's or ours. Marjie fixed the problem instantly and we had new invites in less than a week. I was thrilled with the final product, and even MORE pleased with that level of service from an online retailer.
Rugg Road Paper Company
Location: Boston, MAWebsite: http://ruggroadpaper.com/
Reviews:
- A+: We went into Boston to get both our save the dates and invites. The staff at Rugg Road is great. We had a girl stay almost 2 hours past closing to help us get our invites done so that we wouldn't have to come back again. Everything came out great.
Sarah Paternak
Location:Email: spasternak@animationtech.com
Reviews:
- A+: Sarah is a former knottie who designs wedding invitations on the side. From beginning to end she was a complete doll to work with. We met in person and looked through bunch of cardstock and ribbon colors and design samples and discussed what I was looking for. Well she came back with I think 8 mock-ups of different designs based on what we discussed. They were incredible! Our invitations were absolutely gorgeous and I got so many calls to tell me so. After getting our invitations I decided to do the programs myself since we couldn?t meet with the church organist until 2 weeks before the wedding to decide on music. She sent me the fonts she had used, where she ordered the cardstock from, everything so that I could make sure the other stationery was consistent with the invitations. She even ordered the ribbon for me since it?s not available for wholesale. She is as sweet as can be and extremely talented.
Talk Paper Scissors

Reviews:
- A+: I contacted this company in regards to our programs and placecards. As soon as I met with the owner Karen and saw the samples she had I booked immediately. She took my vision and created beautiful programs and placecards that matched our black and white theme exactly. I didn't plan on spending a ton of money on these items, but they really tied the wedding together and were worth it.
Teresa Lang
Location: OklahomaE-mail: tlangdesigns@yahoo.com
Reviews:
- My goal for my invitations was to find something that was distinct but not too costly. Theresa met both of those goals. We got a ton of compliments on our invites (even from a friend who is a graphic designer) and we really loved how they looked in the end. Unfortunately, the process of getting the invites was not so smooth. The downside of working with Theresa was that she was not good at responding to e-mails or phone calls. I tried to be patient, but it is frustrating to not hear back for almost two weeks! I am glad I started the design process early. I do want to say, though, that Teresa was very professional when it came to problems that arose while sending the invites. For example, there was a delay (due to one of her service providers) in receiving the invites and because of this she refunded us some of our money. On the whole, I would recommend working with Teresa as long as you start early!

- (Jean Fosdick) I loved working with Jean. I feel like I have a new friend. Through Jean, I got save the dates, invitations, thank you/correspondence cards, & favor boxes. She also printed both my inner & outer envelopes. Jean is a great businesswoman and knows her craft. She is great with response time & email. I did 90% of planning from NYC. She would email me proofs & mail me the finished product. And she always follows up. I had a very stressful time trying to visualize what the finished products would look like, picking fonts, papers, colors, ribbons. Jean would tell me what looks good & what doesn't. When I was on the verge of a breakdown trying to decide what color to go with for our wedding invitations, I told Jean just to pick it, knowing my likes & dislikes. And pick it, she did. Jean is comfortable stepping up when I needed it & making an executive decision.
