- A+: I have been going here for years. Jen is my hairdresser and I really didn’t even have a need for a hair trial with her. I met with her for a highlight and trim (as usual) and she played with it and said, "We will do something great that day, whatever you want!" I gave her a few pictures and she ran with it the day of the wedding and it was exactly what I wanted!! She has also done my hair for 4 proms and 2 other weddings that the bride didn’t get a stylist. The other girls in the shop did the rest of the bridal party and my mom and they were all very, very happy with the results!

So the day of the wedding I brought in a bunch of pictures to show him how I wanted my hair to look like. He did exactly what I wanted and it was perfect!! My hair lasted all day and night.

I had been going to Lori for 8 years and followed her there. She did an incrediable job. My hair didn't move an inch all night. I was SO happy. Colleen and Aimee were also SO good. I have a few bridesmaids who are very picky and usually never like how their updos come out and ALL my girls were so happy with their hair. They got me and 5 girls done in 3 hours. I highly recommend them - prices are great and their personalities are the best!

- Anne-Marie is so sweet and such a perfectionist and very reasonably priced. She made everyone look gorgeous and even my mom, who never wears makeup and was very nervous about it, was happy with her. She even helped me cover up some of the blemishes on my arms and chest and back.

- Anne-Marie is my final "favorite vendor". I loved working with her because she was both personable and professional. I was looking for very natural makeup, and she did an excellent job. She did the makeup for me, my sister, my mom and my mother-in-law. I think we all looked fabulous, and my sister especially loved the ?smokey? eyes Anne-Marie gave her. I usually do not like profile pictures of me, but I think it is to Anne-Marie's credit that there is not a single picture from my wedding that I do not like.

I looked at websites for about 30 people, I was at the point where I was at people who do hair and makeup on movie sets that's how far I digged (if you want my spreadsheet I'm happy to share it). This was because Lisa George was already booked. Then I found Jen and I didn't see anyone scary looking on her website so I did a trial. She worked with Bobbi Brown when she was first starting out in Chicago. I'm really really picky about my makeup, I've been to weddings where makeup is caked on, the wrong colors used, and it just looks bad. Jen did an amazing job, and she was so great to have around on the day of the wedding, she's fun and knows just what needs to be done. She even helped while I got dressed! Loved her!

- B-: This is a hard review for me. Carolina is so nice and easy to work with. However, she was totally underprepared for my party size (7 adults to get their hair/makeup done including me and my mom). Some of that was out of her control, as she planned to come with three assistants but two didn't show. However, it took her 5 1/2 hours to get the 7 of us taken care of, which was so frustrating!! We barely had time to do group pictures beforehand. Plus, my hair didn't last at all. It was stringy by the reception. Most of the BM hair stayed, which was good, but I was pretty disappointed. I would still have used her for makeup but gotten a different hairdresser for myself, at least. I would still recommend her if you have a small party size. Her price is great and she is very nice to work with.

My makeup trial was Free (you never see that!) and the pricing was very reasonable. They have a new spray on foundation that was water-proof and spectacular - it was given our at last year's Grammies! We were all very pleased with our makeup and looked flawless!!

The day of the wedding, she was a superstar and showed up at 6am on a Sunday and also had another wedding to do later that afternoon. All of my girls also loved their hair (especially my flower girl!)

- AMy hair and the hair of all my BMs were beautiful. I loved it. My hair did start falling down near the end of the night, but it was windy that day and we took photos in the park, and I'd much prefer it to fall a little than be uncomfortable because it was pulled too tight.

- A: Kymm is amazing. She did my hair, my mom's, and my entire bridal party at the Royal Sonesta. She arrived early, and worked quickly. Everyone was thrilled with their hair and nobody's fell out at all. Kymm brought pictures of my trial with her so there was no snafus with my hair. She is wonderful and amazing. - A+: After my first trial with Gina I was a little worried, I thought it was too flat and didn't look enough like the pictures I brought in. I decided to go with a different style and had another trial and loved it. The day of the wedding though my hair came out even better than I had pictured it would. It was incredible! I got so, so many compliments on it and completely loved it. It stayed all night and through me sleeping in it J She did 9 peoples hair and it all looked great, I loved everyone?s hair. She redid one of my bridesmaids because she has superfine hair and the curls had fallen out before Gina had left. Also, when I emailed her in a panic at 2:30am the Friday morning before the wedding because I hadn't left enough time for everyone she emailed me first thing that morning telling me not to worry she could come earlier. She was awesome. I have received so, so many compliments on my hair that I bumped Gina up to an A+, it really was awesome.

- I booked Gina based on her portfolio, the number of brides who recommended her on theknot.com and her pricing. Overall, she did a great job on the day of the wedding. She did my hair, my sister?s hair and my mother-in-law?s hair. I had difficulty deciding what to do with my hair, and Gina was just fine with me changing my mind a week before the wedding. I was disappointed, however, with my hair trials. I left both of my hair trials feeling that my hair did not look like it had been ?done?. I think that Gina did not put the effort into the trials that she put into her work on the day of the wedding. Because of the trials, I was nervous about the wedding, but everyone?s hair turned out wonderfully.

- Gina was amazing! She was super fast and very easy to work with. I really liked how my hair came out although it did fall a little towards the end of the night but that's pretty much a given.

- A+: Gina was amazing! I loved my hair, which is pretty amazing since I never love how my hair looks. She totally got the look I was going for, and she was sure to make sure I loved it before she sprayed into place. Plus you couldn?t even tell that I had extensions in my hair to make my bun fuller. And I was also totally blown away by how amazing everyone else's hair looked. She really did a great job! And I have no idea how she did such amazing work in such a short period of time! She was so much fun to work with, and my family had a riot with her. They couldn?t stop telling me how much they loved her! And at the end of the night, everyone's hair still looked fantastic. I went in not really knowing what I wanted, and she was able to look at pictures of my dress and use the style of my wedding to come up with something that really fit for me. - I love Lypor! She's been my regular stylist for about a year. I actually found her on the knot. I was looking for a hair stylist that would come to my house to do hair/makeup. I also needed a new regular sylist. Lypor works in a salon in Chelmsford during hte week (where I lived pre wedding)..... She did a great job with my hair and make up. The day we got married was very hot and sticky out. By the end of the night some of the curls had fallen out of the updo. But I was also dancing the night away. My makeup came out well (I don't usually wear any). I tend to cry a lot, and did so the day of the wedding. There was not a single mascara streak or racoon eye at all.

- This salon just opened in Arlington on Mass Ave at the beginning of the Summer. The owner and head stylist has been cutting and styling my family?s hair for at least 10 years. She opened her own salon after working for a high-end, very well known salon in Belmont. She and her sister came to the hotel Sunday morning and did 7 people including my mom, sister, flower girl, 13 year old cousin and a few bridesmaids. She was fantastic. My sister has issue with her skin, and Tara made it so she wasnt self-conscious all day long. My makeup was very natural, I rarely wear any, so i wanted to make sure the boy would recognize me coming down the aisle.

Many people commented that they could tell I was wearing makeup finally but in a very natural way that was not too overpowering for me.

- Wedding Tresses out of Plymptom was just good, not great, but only because I was not a fan of the owner, Jacki. Hair by Annie and makeup by Michelle were GREAT. They came through and I really liked both of them. The owner was too unresponsive, and as of the Friday before the wedding, I could not get a hold of her to find out when the stylists were showing up. She said she sent an email at the beginning of the week, but I never received it. Although this could very well be the case, I find 3 unreturned emails and 3 unreturned phone messages unacceptable the week before the event and I am actually very laid person back who put complete trust in my vendors. She said she was "trying to be on vacation", but in my opinion, and speaking as a business owner, you must always have someone to get a hold of if you are away, in that type of business. I would also make sure that I actually hear from the bride as a confirmation. The only reliable communication I ever got from her was when she was looking for payment. She assumed her email went through and didn't care that I never actually confirmed with her. I chose them because they were local, but I would hesitate to recommend them fully at this point, only because of the owner. BUT I have heard other good reviews about them, so this might be just my experience. I think the stylists very nice, both were both experienced and everyone looked beautiful in the end.
