- Our flowers were gorgeous! My bouquet was black magic roses and dark red calla lilies, hand tied with ivory ribbon. My maids had hand tied ivory roses and the flower girl had a pomander with petite red roses. The bouts were beautiful as well! All of the flowers lasted a few days after the wedding!

- A+: Andrea is an extremely gifted, passionate florist who is full of amazing ideas. She did my cousin?s wedding and I had to hire her for mine. It is difficult for me to put into words the beauty she contributed to my wedding- from the bouquets, to the ceremony, the centerpieces - she even made my cake look breathtaking. On her website, my wedding is the last gallery, with the fall flowers and fruit in the centerpieces. She is personable, professional and a perfectionist and she is also reasonably priced for all the work that she does- and I trusted her completely.

- A+: AMAZING!! That is all I can say. DH and I LOVED her. She was by far our easiest vendor to work with and the flowers were amazing. We had gerber daisys and they held wonderfully. She worked with our budget and she was just awesome!

- A: Anne was really awesome. She felt like a lifelong friend. I had some issues with my priest and she kept me calm throughout it. My flowers were beautiful and inexpensive. She did a really cool flower with a magnet for the 2 moms which was nice so they wouldn't have to pin their delicate dresses.

- A+: I CANNOT WAIT until I post professional pictures of my wedding. Heather Peterson, the owner of Audrey's, stayed within our budget ($2000) and gave us seventeen GIGANTIC table arrangements, plus gorgeous bouquets and boutonnieres. She was trained at Winston's in Boston, so the woman knows what she's doing. She even put little lights in the vases underwater that glowed after dark, and put the same lights in the water fountain on the terrace. I couldn’t believe what an amazing job she did. If you haven't picked your florist yet and you’re remotely near the North Shore, look her up. You won't regret it!

- A: Heather was super easy to work with and her prices very reasonable. My only complaint was that I had wanted the roses in the bouquets & centerpieces to be open and they were more closed than i would have liked. I think maybe i was not specific enough but in the end the flowers were gorgeous, the colors perfect. She even went all the way back to the shop to get pink flowers after the caterer brought purple and orange ones for the appetizer trays.

- Our flowers were gorgeous! Suzanne was great and very flexible when I had to add some things and take other stuff away. She is very reasonably priced, and was such a pleasure to work with. The only thing, which was very minor, was she didn’t leave boxes at Lakeview for the tall vases we rented from her, so that caused a little bit of stress trying to figure out how we were going to get them home. Lakeview ended up finding some boxes and we went back and got them the next morning, so crisis averted but it did cause some stress at the end of the night.

- A+: I cannot rave enough about how beautiful our flowers were! I loved loved loved my bouquet, and my bridesmaids' bouquets and MOB/MOG corsages were so gorgeous. And our flower girl basket was so adorable! Our centerpieces were exactly how I envisioned them (even better than the trial) and we got so many compliments (people were fighting to take them home!). Our chuppah flowers were amazing and really brought the ceremony room together. Suzanne totally went above and beyond what I?d ever expect from a florist, and I was completely blown away by her work. And even though she works out of her home, I think her work is at least as good as if not better than that of a flower shop. Plus she?s able to keep her costs much lower, and I totally got what I paid for and then some. For the most part I let her run with the design -- I just provided the main flowers -- and the end results were truly amazing. She came through in every way with our flowers!

- Mary Ellen was great to work with. I chose her because I got the sense from our first meeting that she would provide excellent customer service and she did not disappoint at all. We only used her for the bouquets, bouts, flower girl accessories and one display for the card table. All were fabulous! I loved my bouquet. She brought me examples of the flowers that she was going to use at a meeting the week before the wedding, but I could not imagine how beautiful all the flowers would be. She pitched in helping us out in a mini crisis by delivering the favors to the reception site for us. She even stayed at the church to pin the boutonnières on groomsmen who arrived at the nick of time. Her prices were extremely reasonable as well. She was incredible.

Cedar Grove Gardens

Reviews:

- A: I LOVED our flowers. We had priced a number of florists before finding Richard at Cedar Grove Gardens. The others were either too expensive for what we wanted or not the level of quality for what we could afford. Richard was able to give us exactly what we wanted for what we could pay. He does beautiful work. He does keep you on your toes though. The first couple of times I called, I needed to remind him who I was, which I understand considering he's doing multiple weddings a weekend and I'm one of countless brides. However, once we got going, he knew me. He also mentioned wanting to go to the hotel to see the patio and figure out what he'd want/need to do to spruce it up -- that didn't happen until four days before the wedding. So he kept me hoping everything would work out, but in the end, he came through beautifully!

First she wanted to know what your dream flowers were and your budget, then she worked with you to make sure that she could create your dream on your budget! I loved how much heart she put into things, and she really showed how much she loves what she does.

Costco

- I had planned on using bittersweets for the centerpieces, but in the final weeks that fell through (long story). So I took a risk and went for the Costco 150 stems of alstromeria for $105. Since each stem had 4-6 flowers and shipping is free, that's hard to beat. Flowers came exactly when they were supposed to (followed the tips on the site). When they arrived, I was a bit freaked out, as they looked all limp and ugly. But a day in buckets of water and magic food, and they poofed out to lovely fall orange flowers. Highly recommend.

Reviews:

- C: This was my biggest headache of the wedding process. I’ve never been a flower person and knew that I didn’t want to spend a lot of my budget on flowers. My mother and I spent like 3 days straight meeting with florists and everyone we met with seemed great, but just so expensive. One night someone on the knot posted that she was working with Lynn and she was so great and so inexpensive. We set up a meeting with Lynn the next day. Her prices were great- she didn’t really have any pictures of her stuff, but I was so sick of looking at florists that I just decided to go with her. Well, she caused more stress than I ever would have imagined. She canceled meetings 3 times the day of the meeting, then said she was going to drop the flowers off on Friday for our Sunday wedding because she forgot she had planned a trip with her family the weekend of my wedding, and when my mother screamed at her she threatened not to bring the flowers at all. To make a long story short, she had them delivered the day of the wedding and they were nice- not spectacular, but definitely acceptable. My flowers were a little brown on the tips and the BMs flowers were smaller than I would’ve liked (although all the flowers looked nice in the pics, which is all that really matters I guess). Lessons learned: 1. Don’t pick a vendor just because they are cheap 2. Even if someone on the knot gives a vendor positive reviews, they might not be the best choice for you and 3. Don’t go to multiple vendors in 1 day, it’s way too draining!

- A+: Everything came out beautiful and exactly what we had pictured in our minds. Debbie was fantastic to work with and very hands on when it came to making sure she saw the same vision as you did. I felt her pricing was more than reasonable especially when we used flowers that were on the more expensive end and we continued to add up until the day of the wedding. The one item that stood out the most with Debbie is she has all her brides come in the day before the wedding and look over all of the flowers meaning the bouquets, bouts, centerpieces, anything she has put together you will see before the wedding. Even the day of the wedding we had to add a few items and once again Debbie came through. She also called my mom while setting up the reception to let her know that everything was where it was suppose to be and looked beautiful.

- Our flowers were so vibrant for our wedding. Mr. Ford worked directly with us to help create amazing centerpieces and bouquets. He knew the Pelham Inn and worked with us on what style arrangements would work best with their setup. He was also very honest with us about things we really didn't need to have.

- A+: I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ford Flowers and Bert Ford, the owner. We had such a great experience the whole way through working with him. We always looked forward to meeting with him as we got to know each other well and didn't feel like we were just another wedding account to him. He looked at pictures of the cake I wanted, our gowns, and even came out to the car the day before the wedding to look my mom's gown and mine. The day of the wedding, he showed up at the ACC to see my mom and I and to make sure everything looked how we wanted it to! I have never had more peole, and men included, comment on the flowers. The centerpieces were unreal. They were huge and contained no filler flowers. Just all big, full peonies, roses, and hydrangea. Bert took everything that I had said I wanted and made it come true. He is one of my favorite vendors and I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone.

- A+: Allie and Lisa are fantastic! When I first met with them they sat down with me and showed me a ton of pictures of work they've done. They have these large "storyboards" that have pictures of the flowers they did for people's weddings. Each wedding they showed me had its own board, so I was able to see all of the flowers they did for each individual wedding. I was really impressed. I ended up emailing them pictures of the bouquets that I liked and if you look at the pictures in my planning bio and compare them to the flowers from the wedding, you can hardly tell the difference! Not only that, but they ended up giving me more flowers than I paid for! I asked for 5 roses in the BM bouquets, and because the roses weren't very open yet, they gave me 10 in those bouquets. They also set up 3 additional vases with submerged orchids and floating candles at the reception than I paid for and put full roses (not just petals) all over our cheese and cracker/fruit station and gift table! They were wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone!

- A+: I LOVED working with Kathryn. She was by far my favorite vendor. She was able to caputure everything we talked about. My bouquet was identical to a sample I gave her of what I wanted. She went above and beyond with the arrangements and had very reasonable prices. There was a small issue with the flowers for the cake, but I may not have been as clear as I should have with what I wanted. None the less she still deserves a few extra +'s. I loved the flowers that much! She truly has a passion for creating beautiful things from flowers. If you're looking for an affordable, creative florist check out Kathryn. Her work is just amazing. I was never afraid that it wouldn't be anything but fabulous.

- I did my own table flowers. 180 large gerbera daisies at $.75 per stem. I called around to different shops, grocery stores and even Costco for prices and theflowerexchange.com had by far the lowest. The shipping was free because I bought over 150 or 160 stems at once. The flowers came via FedEx and were beautiful! They were packed very well, and each flower head was wrapped in soft netting to protect them.

- A: I saved soooo much money by using this vendor for my flowers. I was a little leery about taking on this task, but in the end, it was so worth it. The roses were beautiful and hardy.

- (Darlene Donnolly) A: I LOVED MY FLOWERS! I am not a normal flower person. I worked for four florists over high school/college and have incredibly high standards. People are afraid to send me flowers b/c I might hate them. Darlene and her team went above and beyond. I loved all of the bouquets, tall and short centerpieces, mini mint julep cup arrangements for the high tops, garlands w/ flowers decorating each fireplace mantle, and galvanized tin buckets hanging off Sheppard's hooks up the walkway. I took a zillion pictures of my bouquet and am going to have Darlene recreate it next year. She travels to Boston, Newport, the Cape, etc for weddings so don't let her location concern you. She also did the flowers for my Rehearsal Dinner. DH's two proper Southern aunts hosted the dinner and they were extremely pleased with the centerpieces.

- A+: Darlene has done flowers for me for many occasions so I knew I was safe with her. The price is unbeatable and my flowers were vibrant and beautiful. She made our gazebo pieces removable so they could be used on our head table after the ceremony. The ribbon she picked to match the girls dresses was perfect. The girls actually thought I had ordered material. She also used a piece of my mother's wedding gown to wrap my flowers in.

- (Kathie Colella & her husband Vinny) I really wish I would have trusted Kathie from the very beginning. I am a micro-manager who wants to have all the nitty-gritty details hashed out. Kathie is much more creative & free-thinking. It was hard for me to feel comfortable when Kathie had these grand visions that I just couldn't get my mind around. Kathie did an incredible job. She created a vision that was complete from beginning to end. And it was a vision that I would have never been able to come up with. We went with an "elegant, botanical winter wonderland." She picked our table cloths (a shimmery, silvery blue), she introduced us to our lighting specialist, she helped us chose colors. Kathie gave me her honest opinions, but she was very excited when we?d stop by her shop to show us her latest idea & to get our opinions. The quality of flowers was amazing: they were the biggest roses & orchids I have seen. And she diamond-dusted EVERYTHING. Guests sitting at our table commented, "Emily, your flowers are sparkling!" I was even amazed that there were very out-of-season peonies in my bouquet. Kathie's husband told me, "It's spring in New Zealand." If you ever work with Kathie, let her work her magic. You won't be disappointed.

- (Shrewsbury) B-/C: We hired a florist only for the wedding party flowers and I wasn't impressed at all. I could've made the same exact bouquets by myself. Though pretty, the bouquets weren't what I wanted. They all basically looked like a bunch of roses wrapped together. That's it. I wanted the bouquets to be very round and full. Almost dome shaped. I provided a picture (which they kept a copy of) of what I wanted. The end result was nothing like the picture. The bouts for the father's ended up being tiny little spray roses. I ended up trashing them and making my own out of roses I had for the head table. My father is a big guy, over 6 feet tall, and the bout would've looked ridiculous on him. I guess that's what I get for going with the cheapest florist I could find.

I changed my mind a few times over the year and would contact her with my different ideas and she kept track and would give me an updated quote with the new changes. This was an area were I was looking for a budget friendly vendor and she definitely delivered, they were still beautiful without looking like a budget option. All the flowers lasted well and were just what I wanted. The only reason I give the minus instead of a flat A is because she sometimes was a bit difficult to get in touch with -- like at the end when I asked her to mail me a detailed invoice since we had changed a lot and she just never did. Also, my fiance asked her how to put on the boutonierres and she replied that she didn't know which I found a little odd. But again, she is well worth it.

- A+: While my review is slightly biased (as they are my in-laws) I was truly shocked at the flowers for our wedding. I have always known they have done incredible work but I never in a million years thought I would see flowers like I did at my wedding. I had 4 BMs, 1 MOH, 1 FG, 5 GMs, 1 BM, 4 parents and a few other people. The bouquets were to die for. Mine consisted of all white calla lilies, roses, stephanotis, and greenery, my MOH?s was identical to mine only in pink and the rest of the BM?s had a smaller version using smaller lilies also in pink. My FG had a basket filled with pink rose petals and two roses on the handle, the RB and GMs had a pink rose boutonnière. The BM had a white rose boutonnière and DH had a white calla lily. The fathers both had white roses, MOB carried three small calla lilies and MOG had a white rose and calla lily corsage pinned to her purse. Our ceremony flowers consisted of white bow on every other pew (I think it totaled 40) with white roses and callas. We had four alter arrangements of the same flowers as well as roses surrounding our unity candle. Our cocktail hour flowers were all pink and white exotic flowers. We had large arrangements of Birds of Paradise, "Naughty Boys" and Ginger Flowers, also mixed in with roses and large lilies. Upon arriving in the reception all the flowers were white. Every imaginable flower was there in our centerpieces! They blew me away when I saw them. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful sight. They really went way above and beyond anything I could have ever asked/hoped for. Recommendation - Extremely High

- A+: Donna is truly amazing and extremely reasonably priced. She works out of her home in Byfield but does weddings in Boston and most of Massachusetts. My bouquet was STUNNING and so well made. My BM's bouquets were stunning as well. All bouquets were wrapped in wonderful quality material to match our dresses and the girl's bouquets had their initials in them. DH and groomsmen bout's were amazing as well (and to me, these are usually boring). Donna wrapped the stems in gold and red twine and they were so much more than your average corsage. Finally, our arrangements for the ceremony & reception exceeded all of my expectations- Donna knew we were on a budget, but she was still able to give us gold and burgandy orchids tied to gold wispy willow. They were breathtaking. Donna also provided all of our rose petals for the reception tables, cake table, etc. The tables were overflowing with petals...she so went above and beyond. And she is a doll to work with.

C-: I would have to say this was one of my least favorite vendors. My husband and I met with them several times to discuss our flowers. Well, I asked them not to have greenery show at all on the bouquets. I was so upset the day of the wedding when they dropped off the flowers and they had a ton of greenery in the bouquets. It was noted each time on the contract "No Greenery" and they still went and did it. My photographers were so sweet, they took all the greenery off the bouquests. I was about to cry. Also, I didn't want flowers on my cake table, (which was also noted in contract) and they went ahead and put greenish flowers on the table. Sorry, but to me it's a slap in the face. We payed them a lot of money for what we ordered. My colors were blue and pink. Our preference was not to have any green flowers. They did not honor our wishes. I was so disappointed. I will be writing them a letter soon about this.

- A+: LOVED Steve. Our wedding was June 28th and ALL I wanted was Peonies and ALL I had been hearing was no, not without going over my budget. Steve didn't say that. He told us he would try his best, but if I couldn't get the Peony in my bouquet what did I want. Kind of Bridezilla Erin said "I don't care, it's not a peony, but I guess anything but roses, you're the pro not me." My mom told me I screwed myself with that, but come wedding day I had the most BEAUTIFUL peony and hydrangea bouquets that could ever exist. It was so affordable for all the flowers we needed, and they lasted long after the wedding too! Steve is adorable and a pleasure to work with, I've already passed his card to a few other people who are looking for great cape florists.

- A+: The flowers were beautiful. Maria was so easy to work with, and I had a good idea from the start what I wanted (simple, elegant, all roses). The colors in the bouquets were so vibrant, and they lasted throughout the day. I loved the cocktail hour decorations (which I didn't even see until the following day) which had other stock flowers added in. The flowers were very reasonably priced, and Maria had no issue with traveling from Pelham, NH to the south shore.

- Susanne was the only florist I looked into and I wish I had looked at others before booking her. She did an amazing job on my BMs' bouquets, but I wasn't impressed with my bouquet. I was really unhappy with how my bouquet came out. I had requested to have garden roses in my bouquet and I never got those. She was supposed to call me if she wasn't able to get them because they're not in season and she never called about them. She did call about not finding ranunculus flowers, which I was fine with because she was able to find silk ones to replace the real flowers to give my bouquet the look I wanted. Also I was disappointed with DH's bout. I was supposed to get 2 roses and instead I got 2 TINY buds. Again it wasn't what I had expected. Other than those 2 things she was great to work with and she was able to stay within my budget.

- A: They did our centerpieces for the tables. The flowers came out beautiful and we were very happy with them. I did ask that they use light pink gerbera daisies and they used bright pink, but it worked. I was annoyed with the customer service we received when we met with them. They said that someone had called and canceled our appt, which we did not, but we did meet with someone and she rushed us a bit. Honestly, I would not have used them if they didn't come with our package, but the centerpieces were very pretty and we were happy with the final product.

- 9.5: Jen is very nice and very easy to work with. In our initial meeting, she understood my vision and was able to help me complete the ideas that I'd started and let me know what flowers would readily be available in winter. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. I took off a half of a point because some of the stephanotis in my bouquet were a little brown on the edges. I know they are exceedingly delicate, so I don't know if that is unavoidable or not, but everything else was perfect! She was very gracious and patient with me, as I kept changing details long after the final decision due date in the contract.

- Jen Cahill was one of my favorite vendors! She was so great to work with and well priced. She was good about responding to my many e-mails and making last minute-changes. And the flowers? Gorgeous! About two months before my August wedding, I changed my mind about what kind of flowers I wanted, but it turned out that all of the flowers I wanted were "spring" flowers and not easily available. Jen did a great job suggesting other flowers that were similar to the ones I wanted and she created a beautiful bouquet. I would highly recommend working with Jen.

- Jen is terrific! The flowers were so important to me- probably what I looked forward to the most (except for the marrying DH part :-). Jen did not disappoint. She was really great at listening to EXACTLY what I wanted. This was such a priority for me. I did not want a florist that would say one thing and do another. Jen used all of the flowers that we discussed and my bouquets, centerpieces, altar arrangements, pew decorations, etc. were just gorgeous. The color of the flowers was beautiful and their arrangement was exactly what I had pictured. In fact, I bombarded her with at least 3 or 4 pics of what I wanted each component to look like (i.e.bouquet, bout, etc.) and on the actual wedding day everything matched up perfectly. (As an aside, I think it is so worth it to provide inspiration pics no matter which florist you hire. I think its an added surety that everyone on the same page.) Also, I liked Jen's personality- she's easygoing, a listener and just a very nice person overall. And her price was great! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TANGLED WEB!

- I have 1 thing to say about the flowers. STUNNING. Jen was lovely to work with as well and has an artistic eye for color and style.

- Our flowers were beautiful, and Jen was very accommodating. When I wanted really pale pink hydrangea she ordered white and then did some kinda pale pink spray so they looked like real pale pink hydrangea, and the color was variated so it looked so real. I had a lot of last minute changes with the flowers and Jen allowed me to do that. Only problem was that then the final invoice wasn't ready until really close to the wedding and when I sent it out I sent it to the address on the contract which had apparently changed so she didn't get it by the wedding and left me a voice mail the day of saying she needed cash or a cashiers check. Being from out of state with no kind of my banks nearby and a limit on the ATM I wasn't able to do that and luckily she didn't hold my flowers hostage. Everything looked beautiful though there were a few things that there was a misunderstanding on (like the flower on my DH's boutteneire was substituted and I didn't like what she used and the bows on the wreaths were not like the photos I sent her) but only I noticed that stuff and it really wasn't a big deal. I would still recommend Jen, her pricing and work was great, just be sure that you're not making changes too close to the wedding and you are clear on everything.

- B+: I have to admit Toni had me a bit worried up until the wedding. Her personality is a bit flaky (even forgetting our first appt and leaving me and my FI waiting a 1/2 hour for her once I finally got in touch with her) and I am a very organized person so this bothered me a bit. In addition, 2 days before the wedding I called her and she told me that the wrong color chiffon had been delivered and that she would 'try' to correct it. I was pretty upset and explained that this was very important to me and she should try to find it locally (when you are in the middle of planning, funny how these little things seem like the end of the world! :). She said she would 'try'. It bothered me that she didn't think to go to local stores to find it, etc. BUT in the end her work was gorgeous and she did find the blue chiffon for the tables. I loved the pew buckets and the centerpieces. It all came together perfect!

- Town and Country was part of our package at the Lantana. They were very nice and our flowers were beautiful. Meeting with them wasn't as elaborate as I thought (I was thinking mock centerpieces and bouquets like on the wedding shows) and we ended up just standing there telling them what we wanted, but in the end our flowers were very pretty. I was a little sad with the way mine was wrapped (looked a little messy) but flowers weren't a very important thing to me the way photography was so I wasn't upset about it. Not as fancy as some other knotties' flowers I've seen but beautiful nonetheless. Debbie at Town and Country was so easy to work with and our centerpieces and bouquets were very pretty.

- B: The flowers were beautiful! However, I found out afterwards that the delivery guy was setting up the aisle runner and pew bows at the chapel as people were showing up, which I was a little annoyed with. He was able to get into the chapel at 4:30, and I guess he didn?t show up until 5:30ish. I was especially happy with the way that my bridesmaid?s bouquets came out. They were very nice, especially for what we paid for them. I would recommend not giving a 3 year old a kissing ball, as she dropped it right after the ceremony and all of the flowers fell out. She ended up running around with my tossing bouquet. The quality of the flowers was great, and the only reason they did not get an A was because he was at the chapel setting up so late.

- (Kevin Labbe) A-: Kevin is just a riot and so much fun to work with! I instantly felt comfortable with him and was very impressed with the extra effort he puts in. When you come by his place he always has brownies and ice tea. And the first time I came he'd already made up a trial bouquet in my colors to give me a taste of what he could do. He was really excited about all of our ideas, which was really cool, including making my bouquet primarily with poppies, which apparently is not done very often and turned out to be a challenge. It came out wonderfully, though, as did everything else he made for us. The only negative I have is that some of the stuff wasn?t quite how I?d envisioned it, or how we talked about it being. But we'd also met only twice and it's possible I didn?t convey myself as well as I?d thought. And in the end everything he made was gorgeous and I was quite happy even if they weren't exactly what I thought they'd be.
