Can anyone recommend a good JP (justice of the peace), and how much should I expect to pay?
By Massachusetts law, a Justice of the Peace that lives in the same town that the ceremony takes place in is allowed to charge $75. If the ceremony takes place outside of his/her town, then he/she may charge $125. On top of that, some JPs may charge an extra fee to attend the rehearsal and/or for consultations, as they are giving up their time to do so.
If you are shopping around for a JP, check out the "Officiant" section of the Reviews on this website to read about ones that have already been reviewed. Otherwise, you can also check the Massachusetts Justices of the Peace Association website at http://www.mjpa.org/.
Can anyone recommend a low price but quality photographer?
Tiff908: I love my photographer his name is keith Berry. www.berryphotos.com. He has great prices and awsome albums. You can email him and he gets back to you nice and quick. Tell him Tiffany says hi.
Lilshimmer: I second Keith Berry. He has been awesome to work with and his packages are great! If you have specific questions feel free to page me on the boards :)
CoCo81: I third Keith Berry! He does great work, has great packages and his albums are beautiful. I have some of our e-pics in my bio, but he also has a slideshow of ours on his website under the engagement session link (Nicole & Dan).
metrobabe: I also highly reccommend Keith from Berryphotos. He'll work with your budget so it never hurts to reach out to him. He also travels for free. We are thrilled with the pictures he took and are still getting compliments on your beautiful album from Italy.
BostonKristine: We got the proofs for our album pages today and all I can say is WOW! We were so amazed with Keith's layout skills. We've seen the photos a zillion times but the way he layed everything out brought tears to my eyes. I LOVE BERRY PHOTOS! RAVE RAVE RAVE!
eeyore4771: We're using Scott Metzger for our wedding (www.metzgerstudios.com) He's been great to work with so far, and we had so much fun doing our e-pics (which came out great! - let me know if you'd like the link). He's also reasonably priced. I think for a Saturday wedding, his prices start at $2500. For non-Saturday or off-peak weddings, he offers a discount (15% I think?). He'll totally work with you to put a package together to stay within your budget. You'll also get two photographers and rights to all of your images, which was a plus for us. He also has a great payment plan. You pay in thirds with the first payment due at signing, the second the day of the wedding, and the last when he puts the proofs online. He said to us that it seemed silly to require all of the money before you even saw the finished product. All in all, he's been great to work with and I couldn't be happier with our choice of photographer. Definitely check him out!
FinallyMrsC: We hired Dan Nystedt and he was beyond amazing. Incredible prices, you get all your images (hi-res files) and the rights to them, and he is just a sweetheart to work with. Our photos came out absolutely incredible. www.nystedtphotography.com is his site, though it doesn't do him enough justice at all. If you want to browse the images from my wedding that he shot in October, it's http://megandsteve10607.myphotoalbum.com/.
jamidandedb: Dan Nystedt (www.nystedtphotography.com) His packages start at 1500. So far he is my favorite vendor!
hikerchick1974: I second Dan Nystedt.
jessla: From what I've seen, I love my photographer's work. And he's also very reasonably priced. I'm going with Dave Soucy from A Photographic Memory: www.apmnh.com. Make sure you mention theknot if you bok with him, because he'll give you some free things if you do!
Soon2BGarrison: I am going with Dave and Mandy from A Photographic Memory. They do absolutely amazing work, and I am blown away every time I go into their galleries. They will really work with you and your budget to provide you with what you want.
*KFournier2Be*: I will second A Photographic Memory. We had only met with one other photog and booked with Dave on the spot. They are super flexible and the nice part is they include 2 photogs in every package at no extra charge. I have some engagement pics that they did down in boston in my bio! Good luck!! (link to bio)
AMrsinMay2008: My photog was great - we had the exact same problem when looking for a photog - we wanted someone with elegant and fantastic pics but couldn't afford the hefty price tag. We finally found someone that we are elated with! Shawn Michael Photography - he's based in RI but will travel (And isn't charging us a fee). For at least 6 hours we are getting him AND A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHY yay! for $1500 plus all hi res images on cd. www.shawnmichaelphotography.com - he also has a myspace page with tons and tons of pics www.myspace.com/smweddings. Trust me - he's super laid back, really sweet and keeps a file on you where you can send him pics you like - he'll save them and when it gets to your day he will make sure to get shots in the style you've been sending him. I cannot say enough about how much I love him and how he's definitely my fav vendor so far. If you need more info please send me an e-mail lindsey [at] blitzmedia [dot] com. GOOD LUCK
Breezer80: Our photographer is extremely well priced. Her 6 hour package that includes a bunch of prints and an engagement session with prints is only $1400. She was one of the best priced photographers we found, and she did our engagement session back in October, and it was AMAZING - she is truly fantastic. Her name is Stephanie, and she started More Than Memories, www.morethanmemoriesphotography.com.
SunFlwr324: I absolutely LOVE my photographer ... They are a wife and husband team who are really young and fun ... I clicked with them right away and can see myself smiling for them the entire day of my wedding ... Their base package is $1995 and you get 2 shooters for an unlimited amount of time, all the digital negatives on DVD with a right to print and online hosting ... You can add engagement and TTD shoots, albums and prints as you want so you can build the package that works for you ... Caty Morris Photography ... www.cmorrisphotography.com
tess.andrew: I can definitely recommend my photographer, have a look at her website, she has such a great eye for detail and her photos are so fun & colorful! www.abrilliantphoto.com
MrsT2008: LOVE our photographer! Laura Beals (laurabeals.com). Her work is fantastic and her prices are very reasonable.
RMO582: I recommend www.jillianlauracreative.com. We were so happy with how everything turned out, and spent half of what others spent on photographers.
Ms. Wan: (http://www.yangphoto.com) his package starts at 1800. he's from nyc though and charges 500 traveling fee. still, at $2300 for what he does, it's a good deal.
VTgirlatheart: I had good luck when I posted with the New England School of Photography. I posted my budget and what I was looking for, and got quite a few responses from some established and talented, but reasonably priced photographers. Our budget was $1,000, including travel and we do not feel like we are sacrificing quality for price.
Could you please email me a copy of the limo spreadsheet?
Thanks to BUchica617, she made a spreadsheet of limos in the Boston area. I have decided to upload the spreadsheet to this server, so if anyone would like to download a copy, please *click here*. If anyone has any other limo spreadsheets, or has made any updates to it, I would appreciate an email to bostonbrides@yahoo.com.

How do I build a bio via google? What website is it?
googlepages.com -- If you have a gmail account already, you can just log in. Otherwise you'll need to make a gmail account to create a googlepage. Good luck!
What is wrong with the search function?
The search function on theknot is pretty faulty... Although, there is a good way to search the knot by using google. Just go to google and type in:
site:theknot.com search topic
Just like that. Except, obviously replace "search topic" with what you want to search for... so something like this:
site:theknot.com sunflowers
If you only want to search the boards, then replace "site:theknot.com" with "site:talk.theknot.com". And if you want to only search the bios, then replace that with "site:community.theknot.com".
