- I have nothing but good things to say about Allure in Westwood. I went their today with a few of my BM's to check out dresses and am happy to say that we found them! Dora was very helpful in helping us pick out the styles and finding flattering dresses for everyone. If anyone out there is still looking for a bridal gown or BM dresses I suggest that you go there first.
- Good. I love my dress and veil as well as the BM dresses that were all done there but the customer service isn't always the best. I was there during prom season which is very busy too so that didn't help but everything came out nicely and went smooth.
- A-: I got my dress here and the experience with that was fantastic. I wasn't happy about my bridesmaids dresses. Many of them had little stains or snags and when we noticed it was too late to do anything about it. In all fairness I never even told the shop about them because it was too late. Who knows what they would have done if they knew.

- B/B-: The dresses came in quickly which was great and they are willing to send/give sample swatches which was extremely helpful. I really like their styles (with the double hem) and they give a discount for groups over 5 that order the same dress which really helped. I don't think the price reflects the quality though. They are kind of pricey and were actually the most expensive BM dress I looked at but I just couldn't find a lilac color I liked. And I still didn?t love the color but I was running out of time. We had quite a few BM issues the day of the wedding with the dresses. 1) My MOH ironed her dress that morning and some water from the iron got on the dress. Not a big deal, we figure it would dry. Well when it dried it left huge and very noticeable water spots on the dress. I had an entire glass of champagne spilled on my dress the night of the wedding and when it dried you would have never known so I?m shocked that water left such noticeable marks on her dress. 2) Another bridesmaid put her dress on and the seam on the side of here dress at her waist was tearing open. Luckily my MOH?s mom came up and sewed it back closed but there is no reason a brand new $175 dress should be tearing at the seam. 3) The dresses had a double hem -- which is a 3 inch hem underneath the main body of the dress, except the entire double hem isn't out of the silk shantung, it?s just a strip of silk shantung attached to a sheer lining. On one of my bridesmaids the double hem was falling so you could see the sheer lining part, again this should not be happening on a brand new dress.
- A+: The dresses were amazing! When we went to the shop, the sales woman was very helpful! Then the dresses came weeks before the estimated shipping date. Everyone looked amazing!! And, in my opinion, great prices.
- A+: AMAZING! All the girls looked fabulous!

- I can't say enough about Kara Becker . She is SO nice and helpful. Her attention to detail is downright annoying in a very good way. I don't know how many times I yelled at her to "Stop fussing!". My dress was exactly what I had envisioned and her craftsmanship is beyond what I expected. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

- A: Ramona, the owner, was very sweet. She quoted me the suggested retail price for my Maggie Sottero while Lillian's wanted $400 more, even for their sample! The dress came in 1 week late but that was still March and my wedding was in July. She couldn't help that. I did have to call to check in to make sure the dress had been ordered, but that wasn't a big deal. Very nice to work with.
- A+: Outside of the actual reception this was by far my favorite vendor. Ramona who runs the shop is so fabulous and really knows her stuff. They only do 1 appt so you really get their full attention. I was IN LOVE with my dress...it was so unique and so completely different from what I would have normally picked. Again got so many compliments. I loved Bella so much I also bought my shoes, headpiece, veil and had alterations there as well. Definitely worth the drive!
- A+: Super nice, extremely professional and very very helpful! I would highly reccomend Bella and a special thanks to Ramona! They have a great tailor too!

- A+: I drove all the way to South Hadley which is a good 2 hour drive to get my dress. I had fallen in love with an Essense of Australia gown and they were the only shop in Mass that sold it. So we hiked out there and I wasn't disappointed. They were so helpful with everything. It made the 2 hours ride we did several times more than worth it.

- (Anita Gobbi) 9: Anita was easy to work with and we handled everything through email. She had a great price on the dresses and helped us figure out what size dress to get for a pregnant bridesmaid who would have the baby 2 months before the wedding. The dresses came in later than expected and she wasn't so quick to respond to my inquiries about the delay, but it was around the holidays so I didn't worry about it too much. (Abg4444@aol.com)

- C-: If I had it to do again, I would never have gone through them. They had the best price for our dresses, but in the end, it wasn't worth the hassle. All the dresses came in, and they were in good condition, but their customer service is next to nothing once you place your order. The bridesmaids' dresses were delayed, but they wouldn't tell me why or call me back when they said they would. It got to the point I was calling every day and they would just respond with "any day now". The only exception was Peter and one sales lady who I sadly never got her name (she was young and looked sort of like Cameron Manheym), I tried to only deal with them since they were the only ones who were helpful.

- Worst experience of my entire wedding planning. They almost ruined my gown with poor tailoring, I saw them charge a bm for "extra fabric" -which they cut from a sample gown of that line- they charged my mom full price for a "special order" gown and then gave her the sample gown that had been tried on tons of times. It also took two months for my veil to "come in" and it was also the sample veil I had tried on two weeks before it "came in." The owner is a liar, complains about the brides as soon as she's off the phone with them, and I heard two separate brides complain about their bustles breaking before the first dance, and she blamed THEM. My gown wasn't ready until days before the wedding, and by the time I was through all the drama, I HATED my gown because of all the stress. No bride should spend that much money and have it be such a bad experience.

- A+: I got both my wedding dress and our bridesmaid dress at Caradonna. The service was great. Everyone was very nice, professional, and attentive. They had an excellent selection. The shop itself was very nice and the changing rooms had full mirrors. They also let you take pictures, which I especially liked since the first place I went to did not. The seamstress there was also wonderful- she did a really great job with my dress, which needed a lot of alterations. Everything was executed very professionally and in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend it.

- B-: I selected this shop for 2 reasons. 1) It was relatively conveniently located for most of my BM's. 2) One of my BM's bought her wedding dress there and had a good experience. While they did have a large selection and gave us a good price, I found the shop impersonal and poorly run. Except for Jillian (who gets and A+) the rest of the salespeople and the seamstress were non-chalant at best, and didn't give good customer service. They literally couldn't remember us from one minute to the next. I also felt she talked down to me. Their was little privacy for trying on or alterations and I felt badly for the brides-to-be that I saw standing in front of the whole world trying on dresses. It was a bit of a zoo. Not to mention that they were really pushing my comfort with how long the alterations took and they weren't quite perfect.

- A: I decided that it was not necessary to spend a lot of money on my wedding gown. A decision I have not regretted once. I went with a simple dress and got it altered in my hometown. The alterations cost almost double the dress's price. I wore my mom's mantilla from her wedding and had that altered as well. I was comfortable and could dance all night!
- (Natick) A+: I had wonderful service when i was looking for my dress. It was really busy that day since it was a saturday but they saleslady, Elise was wonderful. I bought off the rack and they spot cleaned it. They also gave my mother a discount on her dress =)
- A: The girls' dresses came a different color than I thought they would be. Not sure if that was my fault because the color looked different in the store than it really was or if it changed slightly. Didn't matter in the end though. They all came in very quickly and everything was perfect when it came in.
- A: I had three bridesmaids that are various sizes, so we chose David?s because of the selection. They were great. We found the dresses the first time out. My MOH ended up getting her dress on clearance for $60.
- (Dedham) A: I went to a couple of different David's. The first one was great but I had that small melt down related to an errant blusher that I ran into at the North Attleboro location. My mother was embarrassed to show her face there again because of my bellowing, "I SHOULD HAVE ELOPED, WHITE IS NOT MY COLOR!!!!" Anyway, I went to Dedham and found a great dress. The girl that helped me find it put me in a room away from people so I didn't have to prance in front of other shoppers, she brought out a veil and approached me with it like one would approach a frightened dog, and she wrestled me into the dress that was totally too small when I bought it like a trooper. Her name was Ivie (Evie) and she totally rocked.
- (North Attleboro) A: Because I caused a scene while shopping for my own dress, I decided to throw some business to the girl who put up with me that day, Patty. She had to leave before my appointment so another lovely young lass, Amanda, helped me. Amanda and I couldn?t have been more different because she vacuums in her tiara and I threw up in my mouth when my mom asked me about a tiara so I wasn?t sure how things were going to go. Amanda was amazing. She was incredibly patient (I have 7 adults and 1 teenager) and my friends were about as helpful as a one legged man in an a** kicking contest when it came to picking their dresses, so she was integral in getting us out of there in under 23 hours. They kept staring at me and chirping in unison, "Whatever you want, it's your day." Meanwhile, I'm totally thinking, "Yeah, that's what I said too when you rat bastards made me wear some ugly nonsense in your weddings, you people are LYING!" (She also brought me the paper bag I needed when I almost lost consciousness trying to make the decision because of the perceived lying.)
- (Manchester, CT) My sales associate, Gwen, was wonderful to work with! There was a tiny mix-up with my shoes, but I was able to return them for the correct pair without any problems. I did not need alterations, and added my own bustle.
- (Dedham) C-: The dress itself was gorgeous! I loved it! And the price was amazing!! The reason for the so so grade is the alterations department. My first fitting went fine, but when I went for the second, I was ready to scream. No one could speak English very well and at first, they could not find my dress. Heart attack #1. Then I tried it on and the lady was trying to tell me it was all set to take home. It had obviously not been cleaned or pressed, the bead work needed some fixing, and it was still a month and a half from the wedding! She kept insisting that everything had been done and I was to take the dress home that night. Heart attack #2. After arguing to speak to a manager, everything turned out all right, but still. Not a good experience and I would not reccomend their alterations department to anyone.
- LOVED my dress and loved that i was able to bring it home with me the day I tried it on. BM Dresses - had a great selection - chose a color and had the girls pick their dresses (which they loved) very reasonalbly priced and dresses came in quickly.

- B: I bought my dress here. I chose this store because I knew that I wanted an Alfred Angelo dress. I thought that the girls working there could have been a little more helpful, but I did find The Dress. I had issues when going to pick the dress up because of their hours, but I did eventually get it.
- A+: I have nothing but amazing things to say about the owner and the girls at this shop. I went to just about every dress shop in NH and although I found my dress at Madeleine's Daughter, I bought it at A Day to Remember. I bought everything at this shop from the dress to shoes to veil as well as alterations, and all the girls got their dresses there as well as my now mother-in-law. My alterations were done on time and did not take very long and I loved my bustle. They also did an awesome job on pressing my dress and even hung the dress out for a day until I picked it up. All the girls and the owner were so accomodating and welcoming and handled any bumps along the way!

- I had my dress made for me by Emmy after a friend told me about her. It turns out that my dress was only the fourth dress she has made, but she did a fabulous job! My future-sister-in-law liked the work on my dress so much that Emmy is now making her wedding dress, too. Emmy was another of my favorite vendors. She is so sweet and a lot of fun to work with. I brought her a picture of the dress I liked the best and we talked about ways to modify the design. She got the dress made in plenty of time, and it was beautiful. And the best part was that I didn't have to pay for alterations! Emmy lives in Jamaica Plain, and her apartment is accessible by public transportation (T). Oh, and I L-O-V-E-D my veil.

- A: I really enjoyed working with Gianna. She is a smart businesswoman and she gets the job done. She gives good one on one attention to each bride and nobody else is allowed to press the wedding dresses but her. Although my veil didn?t come in until a week and a half before the wedding, it was more than perfect. The woman who does the alterations could be a tiny bit abrasive, I didn?t like the way she did my bustle the first time and she seemed frustrated and offended when I told her. Thank god my cousin was there to offer suggestions or I think I would have ended up with something I didn?t like. Overall they did a nice job so have patience. I loved my dress- a Mikaella. My mother got her dress there and it was beautiful. I recommend Gianna?s Bridal, but try to make your appointment with Gianna herself.
- A: Gianna is fantastic. I loved working with her and her staff. She worked with us on prices and the alterations were very well done and it was just a good experience overall.

- A+: They were absolutely wonderful! They really know what looks good on your body type. I loved my Maggie Sottero dress and received tons and tons of compliments on it. Best of all their pricing was great and alterations were Free! The women there are very friendly and accommodating.
- B: We got the bridesmaid dresses from Gilda's. We got great service when we were first trying things on, but once we ordered, everything went down hill. First, they lost the paper with one of the girl's measurements. It took 2 days, but luckily, they did find it. Then, when the dresses came in, they never called me. My matron of honor called on a whim one day to find out the status of the dresses, and lo and behold, they were in. Why didn't they call me? I have no idea. All of the girl's dresses were tight when they came in. All four of them. I think Gilda's ordered the wrong sizes because my MOH said she was told they were ordering her a size 12 and her dress ended up being a 10. Their alterations are free, so it wasn't like they were trying to get more money out of us, but it was a little aggravating that all of the girls' dresses were tight. One of my bridesmaids actually ended up going for 5 fittings because they weren't listening to her about why the dress wasn't fitting correctly. They've got a great selection of dresses, and alterations are free, but I wouldn't recommend buying your dresses from there.

- A: I chose to buy my dress at Lorraine Roy based on the fact that my mother has been a customer there for years. They had an extensive collection of dresses and a bridal suite where you are the only one - or so I thought. When we got there to try on dresses, we were informed that they had done away with their full bridal and that they were really only carrying a small collection of "destination" dresses. As disappointed as I was in the fact that I wasn't going to get the full bridal treatment, I still felt special as I had three women picking out gowns for me. I tried on three before I found the perfect gown. We ordered my gown back in October and I was told it was going to take 14 weeks to come in and I had it in the end of December! Nice and early. Since then they have allowed me to "visit" my dress on many occasions and have been amazing when it comes to setting up my fittings and helping me decide on my veil and accessories. Recommendation: High
- A+: Choosing our bridesmaids dresses was an incredible experience! We made an appointment to go in and when we got there we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were the ONLY ones in the store. The women there helped us picked up many different styles and were honest in their opinions on which they thought would work with our color scheme and the style of our wedding. It didn't take us long to decide on dresses and they were only $150! The best part about it was that the dresses we chose came in tea-length and I was specific in that I wanted them floor length. We were able to get them how I wanted and because I purchased my gown there my 'maids got 10% off their dresses! Recommendation: High

- A+: I originally found my dress while looking with my mom in CT, but I didn't want to buy it out of state. Manhattan Bridal is less than 10 minutes from my house and they had the dress in stock. So I took my FMIL and FSIL to try it on one last time and knew it was the right one. I bought it on tax-free weekend. When you buy your dress there, they offer a 15% discount on bridesmaid gowns, so we ended up getting those there too. My MOH wasn't pregnant when we originally placed her order, but she was by the time it came in for her first fitting and it was already a little tight with two months before the wedding. They were so helpful. They took extra fabric from one of my bridesmaid's gown and used it to put in panels in my MOH's dress. She had her final fitting three days before the wedding (she needed to get as close to the date as possible to make sure she wouldn't grow any more in between fittings) and they were great at fitting her into their schedule during the chaotic prom season.

The dress only took about 5 weeks to come in, which was MUCH earlier than I expected! They were nice enough to hold the dress for another 6 weeks until I could return from Chicago to try it on. I gave them a 9 only because I wanted to make some changes to the dress, but the seamstress (Luigi's mother) kept telling me I couldn't do that to the dress or it would ruin the line, etc. I was able to make those changes, without a problem, with my seamstress. I am glad I didn't listen to her!

- B: Marry & Tux is where we got our bridemaid dresses from...while they were really great in helping us find the perfect dresses, we had a few problems with them. First, on the day we went shopping, I felt they were very pushy about making the sale. I know they run off comission, but the way she pushed the sale was tacky IMO. I paid an extra $30 for a rush per dress because I was told they would only get there a month before the wedding, well they came at least a month before the rush date, so the extra cash probably wasnt needed. Then they ordered what should have been a 16, as a size 10... They did admit to their mistake and order a new one, but it came in 3 weeks before our wedding! I may have just had a bad experience, because I hear great things otherwise.

The store even let my mom borrow a dress without a deposit to see if my grandmother would like it. They dress was on clearance so if she bought it she wouldn't be able to return it (once the tag was scanned). They each found a dress they loved and we put a rush order on them. One came in without any issues, however, the other didn't. Apparently the designer lost the order, so, with a week so go, the owner of Pamela Moore Bridal sewed a dress to look exactly like the one we ordered. It was beautiful! I had no idea any of this was going on, but when I heard at the rehearsal (once the problem was solved), I was floored. Talk about going above and beyond!

They were professional about asking the right questions about what kind of wedding we were having and my budget and were very respectful of both. Phyllis was my salesperson and I can't say enough nice things about her....she was so great, even when I freaked out about which dress I should order (after I had ordered one). The dress came in early. The seamstress was very nice. In the end the dress was a tad long, but otherwise she did a great job with alterations. I also purchased my veil and tiara here. I loved the veil, but they didn't do a great job with the blusher. If I had known at the time, I probably would have comparison shopped, but I was very pleased with both.

- A: I was nervous at first ordering the dresses on the web but the dresses came in on time, as expected, and saved each girl about $60.00! They were dresses from the Waters & Waters WTOO collection. The girls loved the dresses and said they were very comfortable. I did first go to a local bridal shop with them and try on dresses to decide which one before ordering. Also be sure to have the girls measured for correct sizing before ordering. Well worth the savings!
- I had an excellent experience with Pearl's Place. I ordered both my wedding gown and my seven BM dresses through Pearl's Place. My dress (Maggie Sottero "Cleo") took 3 months to arrive. My Watters & Watters BM dresses (#1253) took 1.5 months to arrive. All arrived in perfect condition with no problems. Pricing was significantly better than bridal shops. I saved 42% on my dress, and my BMs saved 38% on their dresses. www.pearlsplace.com

- A+: I highly recommend using RK. I found my girls dresses here for $45 than the lowest bridal shop price. They arrived early and had no problems shipping all over the country and to Australia
- I had an amazing experience with RK Bridal. Their prices were fantastic, even before the beat the competition by 5% discount and shipping price matching, and they were really nice to work with. They were very helpful over the phone in helping to get the right sizes for my BMs, and the dresses arrived maybe 3 weeks or a month earlier than expected. I was a little skeptical about buying dresses from a website, but they do have a store front in New York City, so that made me feel better about buying from them. They really came through and saved my BMs a ton of money. I highly recommend checking them out for BM dresses, MOB/MOG dresses, and even bridal gowns.
- RK was a warehouse and you had to sign up for a consultant once you got in. I was sure I wouldn't find a dress there but I did. I did the RK no frills deal where you measure yourself and they ship it to you because it was cheaper and I didn't want to come to NY to pick up my dress plus I was having someone in VA alter it. I was so worried it would be too small that I ordered it much too big. Of course it?s easier to make it smaller than make it bigger thankfully. They beat the price offered from Pearls Place which was the cheapest I found, by 5%. It was like a week late because it got held up in customs but I?ve heard from others that they?ve gotten their dresses early so it looks like I was an exception. But it was in pristine condition. I'd recommend them.

- I was very happy with the service I received here. It was only the 2nd shop I went to (after a terrible experience at David's) and ended up purchasing that day. The women who work there are really funny and very straightforward, offering really honest opinions and not jsut trying to make a sale. They bring you the dresses, so you don't browse a lot, but that was perfect for someone like me who didn't know WHAT she wanted, but just what I DIDN'T want. I ended up with a Maggie Sottero Ava, which has since been discontinued. I was very happy with the quality of the product from Maggie Sottero as well. It was the perfect dress for me in a totally no-stress shopping experience.
I did my alterations there as well, and they were very well priced (tip to keep alteration costs down... corset back dress!) My only complaint is the cap sleeves fell down on one side a lot, but that was due as much to my posture as the fit of the sleeves, I think if they have been taken in more, it would have been really impossible to move (especially since I popped one sleeve off in hugging people!) Bridesmaid's Dresses: Special Event, Alfred Angelo
We went back to the same bridal shop for BM dresses. The shop is VERY small, so it was a bit chaotic, but everyone got fit properly. The dresses themselves were from Alfred Angelo, and were gorgeous. All the girls loved them, and we got tons fo compliments on them. The wine color was really rich and red, and the dresses had a great movement to them in person. Dresss: A+, Bridal Shop Service: A-
- So, about a month ago, I went to Special Event Bridal Shop in Marlborough, MA. I went on a Thursday night with an appointment. The lady that I dealt with was nothing short of nasty. She asked many leading questions so that she would know how much time she should spend with me and how to treat me. I had brought in about three different designs of wedding dresses that I wanted to try on. They let me try on ONE of those designs and picked out another couple of their own choice. I kept quiet and didn't say anything. Then after I tried on the third dress and asked to try on some of the other styles that I had initially picked out, they told me that I was finished and when I brought my mother in with me, they would let me try on the additional dresses. Then, they told me not to think about coming in multiple times to try on dresses that I liked because it took up their time to help me. Meanwhile, the lady was in the dressing room with me the ENTIRE time I was there and wouldn't tell me the designer of the dress that I liked. Well... I left the shop in a little bit of shell shock that these people could treat their customers so poorly. I knew that I had to go back with my mom to show her the dress that I liked (much to my displeasure), so I made an appointment to go there today and these women were WAY WORSE this time around. I have never in my life been treated so disrespectfully. My experience today started at 9:25am when I walked in for my 9:30am appointment. They started by telling me that they had thrown away my card from the last time I was there and had no record of the dress that I had loved (since they REFUSED to tell me the designer). I was able to try on one dress that I knew I liked and one other one that I was dying to see how it would look on me. Once I put the second dress on, the lady told me that after this dress I was finished trying things on. To make a long story short and cutting out on multiple examples of POOR customer service, I left the bridal shop at 9:42am. That is the MAXIMUM amount of time they allotted for me even though I had an appointment. Apparently, they had to rush me through because they had to get to all their 'Prom dress' customers. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a wedding dress a little more important than a prom dress??? Not to mention more expensive which means more commission!!!
- I had an appointment there with a friend a few months ago (both brides trying on dresses) and had a similar experience. I think we each tried on four dresses tops before they were throwing us out the door for their next appointments. I believe they cut the designer tags off the dresses, which I didn't know was illegal at the time. Overall really crappy experience. My friend actually did end up with one of the dresses she tried on, but obviously ordered it elsewhere. Really have to wonder how shops like this stay around!

- A-: Everything went ok with Yolanda's, but it really depends on who you get when you go in there. Some of the girls are super nice and helpful, and others are kind of rude. My girls' dresses all came in beautifully and on time, but 2 of the 4 were huge on them, after the girl talked them into getting bigger sizes, and one of the girls quoted the wrong price, which was promptly fixed.
